Help Haitian children get education.

Recently law students from several schools around the country came together to form a not for profit organization dedicated to helping pay tuition for children in Haiti. Among the founding members of this organization are several students from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. The name of the group that they chose is Konbit Pou Edikasyon, which in Haitian creole means "Coming Together for Education". Please visit their website at www.konbitpe.org for more information.

While I think Education is important for everyone (after being in a classroom of one sort or another for the last 48 consecutive years), I think that since these law students from several schools around our country should put some of their efforts into helping pay tuition, or maybe even something like supplying school books, school supplies, maybe uniforms or clothes and shoes for our children in our country. Maybe come in and read to or with students in schools in our country, or work a few math problems with kids in our country...or how about tossing a baseball or a football with some kids in our country. You will never ever know what a difference you can make with some kid across town from your house, or even with a kid across the street. Charity should begin at home.
