Better picture taking

David Pogue's 10 tips for taking better pictures is invaluable. I subscribe to the notion that flash should hardly ever be used.

I agree completely. In many of the places I'm photographing, flash isn't allowed... and I'm almost happy it's not - it forces a better (and completely red-eye free) picture. Of course, a decent DSLR and noise-reduction software helps a lot too. [grin]

I too agree that flash is used way to much. I also believe that fill flash isn't used enough...if at all. Seems people use flash when they don't need to and don't use it when they really need it! C'est la vie!

It always amuses me to see the thousands of useless flashes among the spectators at a major sporting event whenever the camera pans the audience.
