Voting for Mayor in New Orleans

So I traipsed down to City Hall today to cast my vote for Mitch Landrieu, and a host of other candidates.  Anyone can vote early from now until the day before the election on April 22nd.  I'm going to be out of town on April 22nd, so I had to vote early.  The only thing you need is some form of acceptable identification: a drivers' licence or a credit card will do.

The voting area is on the ground floor of City Hall.  Just turn right after you go in the main entrance and head down the long hallway and take a right.  You'll see the people lined up (it's not too bad; took me about 20 minutes to complete the circuit).  As I was making my way down the long hallway to get to the voting area I saw Mayor Nagin talking to some people in the hallway.  He offered me his hand as I passed, and I happily shook it.  I like Ray Nagin, as I've said many times before.  But I much prefer Mitch Landrieu for the reasons I've mentioned before.  Basically, these are the same reasons outlined in the recent endorsement by New Orleans City Business, especially the concluding paragraph:

"Mayor C. Ray Nagin is to be commended for his resolve to help New Orleans through its darkest post-Katrina days. Yet his feud with Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco and the federal government critically wounded our recovery and cannot be allowed to continue.

Mitch Landrieu is best equipped to help speed the recovery of New Orleans. He should be our next mayor."
