Bloggers have nothing to say?

Every once in awhile some 'TV-certified pundit' disparages blogging by saying it's mostly the pathetic ramblings of a bunch of self-absorbed social misfits.  Obviously, there is a lot of stuff launched into the blogosphere that doesn't deserve to be taken seriously.  But, let's consider the world of Main Stream Media, where it costs a lot to produce video programming.

Does that stop the TV intelligensia from spending money to bring us video images of completely ludicrous crap like hot dog eating contests?  Some might say that the appearance of this sort of programming is evidence of a civilization in decline.
