Murder He Wrote (on his blog before he was killed)

Tom Wolfe said back in the mid-1980s that writing fiction was too hard because the true stories were already more bizarre than anything that a writer's imagination could conjure up.  I'm sure I could conjure up this story, but it's still bizarre.  Here's a link to the media account of this tragic tale.
