New E-mail scams? You may have heard about it.

It's called 'phishing' and it is a major threat to security.  Here's the deal: don't assume that the E-mail you get from some merchant or service, such as PayPal or eBay, is really coming from that merchant.  In the past few days, I've gotten at least 3 emails (like the one described here) purporting to come from PayPal.  Fortunately, I know better than to give my personal information to scammers.

Or at least I think I do.  The scammers are getting more clever, and I'm definitely not getting smarter.  So time is on their side.
