Should you become a lawyer?

I get a lot of emails from people who are thinking of going to law school.  I would like to offer them some meaningful advice, but all I can really say is plumb the depths of your soul and spend some time  examining why you are interested in becoming a lawyer.  Are you one of those people who are asking yourself: should I go to law school?   Here's a book that I can recommend to help you in your cogitations called Should You Really Be A Lawyer?: The Guide to Smart Career Choices Before, During & After Law School.  Deborah Scheider and her co-author, Gary Belsky, also have a website if you want more information about the book there.  Also, here is Washington Post review of their book that is quite good.
