Cellphone use on airlines not too far away

Well, maybe it's not soon enough for frequent fliers, but this article quotes Dan Garton, executive vice president of marketing for American Airlines, opining that "commercial availability of cell phone use in flight is approximately 24 months away." Hopefully, the airlines are also working on putting power strips that people can plug their laptops and cellphones into to recharge them while in flight.
