The 10b-5 Daily recently asked its readers to nominate contenders for the title of "Shortest Class Period Ever In A Securities Class Action." The winner has been announced.

The winning case involves a case on behalf of all persons who traded the stock of Corinthian Colleges, Inc. between 10:46 a.m. and approximately 12:30 p.m. on December 5, 2003. Hence, the proposed class period is only one hour and forty-four minutes long. They say 'football is a game of inches.' It looks like securities class action litigation is becoming a 'game of minutes.'
