Matthew Toll is, to put it euphemistically, quite eager to get a job at a large law firm. From the looks of this it appears that he's ready to sell his soul to the devil. Hope he doesn't mind working in the heat.

I know that this guy is going to get quite a bit of flack for the "pleading" that he drafted in support of his request for employment at a large New Jersey firm (coincidentally, the same one where I worked as a summer associate in 1987!). And yes, he does sound desperate but at the same time, I can't help but admire someone who has the guts and the nerve to aggressively and creatively go after something that he wants instead of just giving up. That's the kind of lawyer I'd want representing me - and that's the kind I'd consider hiring if I had the chance.

I knew Matthew Toll during his first year at Tulane Law School. Let me first begin by saying that Tulane's academics are exceedingly weak, and I was unimpressed with the quality of students that are arbitrarily admitted to the school. The administration (specifically Deans Larry Ponoroff, Stephen Griffin, and Tondra Netherton) make it clear that Tulane is only concerned about two things: money and money. This leadership sets the example for a student body concerned solely with hoarding money, at the expense of values, morals, and ethics. So we should not be surprised at the end-product.--In this case it is Matthew Toll. But Tulane is a machine that will continue to accept more Matthew Tolls as students and produce more Matthew Tolls as (I shudder) lawyers. And this is why our legal (I dare say "justice") system is in a state of entropy. Tulane is a private university business. Tulane's Law School is in the business of making money and adding to the pool of degenerate, sniveling, and morally-corrupt so-called "professionals." Instead of applying for jobs as a lawyer, Mr. Toll should have applied for an administration-level position at a stuffy private law school like Tulane. I think he'd fit right in and be very successful in indoctrinating young minds to make the world a better place.

Matthew Toll should be named "Matthew Tool" Any firm that hires him is making a mistake. He is a lying sack of crap. Above, he posts that he only sent it out to "a few test firms." He sent it to EVERY firm in Florida that registered over 50 attorneys in a martindale search.

I have substantial ties with the State of Florida. I spent a summer working in REDACTED. I am an annual passholder at Disney. My girlfriend of the past couple years (and likely future wife) is from the area and is looking at firms across the state (in response to both her family's pleas to remain local and her love for the state). She is planning to get her LLM in taxation and plans to attend the University of Florida. My father, who is now in real estate, is considering numerous investment opportunities in the area. My grandmother has a place in West Palm Beach. In short, there is no risk that in hiring me, the firm would be extending someone an offer "without ties to the area."





Hmmmm....but Mr. Tool is sending resumes to New Jersey too? Being a member of the bar requires a degree of honesty you idiot. I wonder how many firms had a laugh at Matthew Toll's expense? I pity the idiot that hires him!
