Thomas Paine on iTunes Music Store

No, the author of Common Sense didn't have anything to say about Apple's popular online music store. But his popular and influential pamplet is available on iTunes Music Store. (link works only if you have iTunes installed on your computer)

I downloaded it and listened to it over the weekend as I drove around running errands. This is one of those things that I would not have re-read in printed form (too many other things on the list), but it is perfect for audio. And it's a great reminder that the people who formed our nation were very distrustful of government, believing it to be nothing more than "a necessary evil."

Sounds liek this is actually offered through Audible, which is partners with the iTunes store. This is a fantastic service and you can subscribe for $15 / month and get the New York Times every weekday plus a book per month. I ride the train and this is perfect for that as well as the gym. I also love to read books so I'm not looking to replace those, but also text based media when moving my arms.

Right now I'm about 2/3 of the way through "The Dream of Reason" which is awesome.

FYI, you can use the iTunes link maker at Apple to create intelligent links that work fine if you do not have iTunes installed.

PS - Just returned from a New Orleans/NYC trip and enjoyed a couple of the wifi/restaurants you shared. Was in town for the New Orleans Media Experience. If you didn't get a chance to check it out, do so next year.
