Exhibit A in Government Incompetence

Times Picayune: "Since 1999, the New Orleans school system has sent paychecks to more than 1,000 people who had stopped working -- sometimes for a year or more -- and until recently, it paid insurance premiums for about 2,000 people not entitled to the benefits, according to a board consultant. The errors probably cost the system millions of dollars, but the exact amount hasn't yet been determined."

Sheesh, governments sometimes act like they are spending someone else's money.

True enough, and the shame for those in the private sector that exhibit this sort of incompetence is even greater.
