FCC Commissioner in favor of free markets

Colin Powell's son Michael, who is Chair of the FCC, has "rare and precious wisdom." So says Arnold Kling in this thought-provoking post. And if you click now you'll receive an added bonus: a short comparison in the approaches of two Nobel prize winning economists: Friedrich A. Hayek and Joseph Stiglitz.

But but but but but but what if you want Ludwig von Mises on audio tape?

Anyway - Powell is interesting and certainly he's done a better job of understanding wireless than any of the cell phone providers.

My only caveat here is that some one needs to push the RBOCs into the 21st Century when it comes to broadband. It may be the one area where gummint needs to get out the big stick and beat heads.

Therefore I do side with Copps because he is - in his own way - prying the market out of the hands of the cable co's and the RBOCs who help botch all the current legislation in place.

Reed Hunt and more money ain't gonna do it.

BTW - I love your banner. I keep meaning to drop you a line about that.
