Weekly Law Blog Roundup
Wed, October 15, 2003 New to the law blog scene is "Blogs at the Center for Internet and Society" a/k/a Blog@CIS, which includes luminaries like Larry Lessig and others. Lessig has had a blog for awhile, but it's good to see him attracting some cohorts at Stanford.
Also, check out Transmogriflaw a former engineer now studying to become a lawyer. Not sure where she is in law school, but she is using AOL Journals to post her weblog. Interesting.
I don't generally announce how I learned about the various law blogs that I cover in the Weekly Roundup, mostly because it is either hard to remember how I found them, or sometimes I hear about them simultaneously from different sources. This week I'm going to give attribution, and you can assume that the people I am using for attribution are better sources for learning about new law blogs than I am, so please scour their sites for ones I have missed.
Kevin Heller of Tech Law Advisor pointed me to By No Other by D. C. Toedt, a former partner in a big intellectual-property law firm.
District Court clerk Kyle Kaiser was presented to the blawg world by Howard Bashman while Denise Howell of Bag & Baggage introduced Serious Law Student, a 1L at Columbia. Howard also had the scoop on the Sniper Trial Blog, which has news about the trial of the infamous D.C. snipers.
Sherry Fowler of the newly renamed Stay of Execution this week introduced us to Legal Technicalities, a legal writing blog. God knows the legal profession needs more help with legal writing. Tom Mighell of Inter Alia turned me on to Public Defender Dude, which presents "the rantings of a Public Defender constantly fighting against society's pervasive Police Industrial Complex."
Congratulations on Delaware Law Office's 2 year milestone. And good thoughts go out to Jeff Cooper who will stop blogging for good reasons.
This week's bonus link is not to a law blog per se, but to an interesting discussion about compensation for law professors. Enjoy!
