Austin (LP 4th floor)

Ernie,

Rachael and I accidentally stumbled on the premiere (we were walking our dog and saw followed the lights). I had read the book and was incredibly moved by it all. The funniest part of the arrivals was when Jeremy Shockey came out to a hero's welcome in what seemed like a 5 minute ovation. Right as the crowd quieted over Shock, the Touhy family came out and the crowd had ZERO clue who they were. It was good fun, especially when Drew Brees riled up a quiet crowd by signing autographs. Also spotted - Bullock's husbad, James Carville, and that guy from Mad Men from NOLA.

Austin, that's really funny. Typical New Orleans crowd. All over the out of town guy, because he plays for our beloved Saints. Local boy who is the heart of the story? Nada.

I couldn't agree more about Ms. Bullock.

I saw her in the women's room at the Atlanta airport a few years back. There were a few other women congratulating her on something she'd done -- wasn't entirely clear what.

After she left, I asked one of the women what had happened. Seems Ms. Bullock and her husband had spotted two servicemen on leave entering the plane and heading back to coach. They asked if they could give the servicemen their first-class seats, and then went back to coach, where they spent the entire flight to ATL.

Love. Her.

Hey Sheryl:

Thanks for sharing that! What a great story. Sandra Bullock is wonderful, and we're happy to have her spending more time in New Orleans.
