KaZaa for streaming music?
Singingfish.com is a site that indexes multi-media (think: MP3s of favorite old songs stored somewhere out there on the web), and it was recently acquired by AOL. What is Singingfish? "Based in Seattle, Singingfish indexes more than 14 million audio and video streams and files in such formats as Windows Media, Real, QuickTime and MP3." Apparently, now that it was bought by AOL they will deploy a set of new search features that let users save and share queries, refine searches and discover new multimedia content.
Very cool, and sort of cool that AOL is getting involved with this novel approach to making multimedia files available on the 'Net. Wonder how long before the lawyers will get involved?
